Patient Profiles

One of the best ways to learn about vision correction is to talk to, read about, and learn from people who have already had similar care. We invite you to browse here a very broad selection of profiles about our patients.

Our profiles include data on:

  1. Unaided vision before and after treatment;

  2. Prescription before and after treatment;

  3. Age, occupation, and photo (if provided);

  4. Certain special case concerns;

  5. Comments from patients; and

  6. Comments from Dr. Wallace.

We invite you to browse by the various treatment types listed in the 'right rail' (column at right).  Or, to review all patient profiles, simply select one of the featured patients, then the "Next" or "Previous" tabs on the individual profile pages.

These are real people, and their letters speak for themselves. To respect and protect the privacy of these patients, we have identified them only by first name in the letters published here.

Elizabeth P says:

Sorry it has taken me so long to write and thank you and your staff for the terrific job on my laser surgery.

Although my near-sightedness was on the mild side, I was just as nervous and concerned about surgery as someone with a severe case. I did quite a bit of shopping around before I came to you, and I was very impressed your office. Everyone I came in contact with was genuinely friendly, open and professional. I never felt like I was getting a "hard sell," and everyone took the time to answer my questions with kindness and consideration.

But I think the final thing that convinced me was watching a procedure. I felt that if you were confident enough to let me watch you perform a surgery, I could have confidence in you. Plus, it was fascinating! It went a long way to relieving my fears of surgery as well.

I am really enjoying my new more-than-perfect eyesight. I just love waking up every morning and seeing everything instead of fumbling to the bathroom to put in my "eyes."

Thanks again!

Doctor Wallace says:

Elizabeth, I couldn't have said it better myself! I am a firm believer in candor, disclosure, and total accountability between doctor (or surgeon) and patient. Particularly where LASIK is concerned, I recognize that everyone who comes in for consultation has a lot of fear about the process. By offering to display our work, we do take a great deal of the mystery (and the unknown) out of the process. In most cases this helps people gain comfort with us and with the prospect of having care themselves.

Thank you again, and enjoy your new vision!

Dr. Wallace
