I'm sitting in front of my computer, still amazed at the incredible improvements since you performed surgery on my- right eye two weeks ago.

From the initial consultation, where you discussed all of my options, and actually suggested I consider not having the procedure - through our decision to go with surgery in just one eye for the `monovision' effect, I'd become increasingly confident in your ability to provide totally competent, effective and appropriate recommendations.

The surgery itself was a breeze. It seemed like less than 10 seconds total. and I was on my way, without a second of pain or discomfort. That same evening I was watching TV, relaxing and becoming more and more amazed at how quickly- my vision had improved.

But the TRULY AMAZING INSTANT was the next morning (less than 18 hours after the surgery) when I got behind the wheel of my car, and drove without glasses for the first time in 41 years (I got my license at a very early age!) Reading road signs at a distance, and the close-up dashboard - well, I continue to be amazed daily.

My biggest complication? Picking out new non-prescription sunglasses!

Thanks to you and your professional staff for all of your help. I'll see you in three months for my second follow-up.

Doctor Wallace says:

Hal was mildly nearsighted in both eyes. We discussed monovision as an option. By leaving one eye alone, we were able to create good function for both distance (in the corrected eye) and near (the untreated eye). This also cut the costs in half for Hal, which for him was like the icing on the cake.

Hal's situation is also illustrative of the fact that some people with relatively small prescriptions can realize great benefit from LASIK.
