Patient Profiles

One of the best ways to learn about vision correction is to talk to, read about, and learn from people who have already had similar care. We invite you to browse here a very broad selection of profiles about our patients.

Our profiles include data on:

  1. Unaided vision before and after treatment;

  2. Prescription before and after treatment;

  3. Age, occupation, and photo (if provided);

  4. Certain special case concerns;

  5. Comments from patients; and

  6. Comments from Dr. Wallace.

We invite you to browse by the various treatment types listed in the 'right rail' (column at right).  Or, to review all patient profiles, simply select one of the featured patients, then the "Next" or "Previous" tabs on the individual profile pages.

These are real people, and their letters speak for themselves. To respect and protect the privacy of these patients, we have identified them only by first name in the letters published here.

Merrin D says:

Snorkeling. Surfing. Swimming. Seeing. Dr. Wallace made my dreams come true. This surgery really works, and miracles do happen.

I could not have been more nervous to get this procedure done. I am an actress (currently starring on ABC’s award winning ALIAS) so, I kinda really need my eyes to do my work, but c’mon, who doesn’t? Anyway, I am a conservative and cautious person, so I think I had at least three consultations with Dr. Wallace before I committed to get Lasik. I asked him every question in the book including what happens if it doesn’t take, what happens if there’s an earthquake or if either one of us sneezes during the procedure. He was extremely patient, kind, and understanding and I don’t often find that with doctors. I was never rushed in or rushed out. Everyone on his staff treated me so well and really cared about my needs and worries. I felt I was in the right hands.

The entire process took all of 10 minutes. I woke up the next morning with 20/15 vision and burst into tears. You know when you get that new prescription and everything looks so detailed and clear? That’s what it’s like. ALL THE TIME. Dr. Wallace started cheering and said I got the "fairy tale" result.

Now, I can do all those activities I couldn’t do or was afraid to do without being able to see clearly. I don’t have to pack glasses, and contacts, and saline when I travel. I wake up and I am free. I can see.

I say do it now. Let the freedom begin. You are in the best hands with Dr. Wallace.

Merrin had her LASIK in April, '02. We saw her last this past August. She's doing phenomenally!
