Patient Profiles

One of the best ways to learn about vision correction is to talk to, read about, and learn from people who have already had similar care. We invite you to browse here a very broad selection of profiles about our patients.

Our profiles include data on:

  1. Unaided vision before and after treatment;

  2. Prescription before and after treatment;

  3. Age, occupation, and photo (if provided);

  4. Certain special case concerns;

  5. Comments from patients; and

  6. Comments from Dr. Wallace.

We invite you to browse by the various treatment types listed in the 'right rail' (column at right).  Or, to review all patient profiles, simply select one of the featured patients, then the "Next" or "Previous" tabs on the individual profile pages.

These are real people, and their letters speak for themselves. To respect and protect the privacy of these patients, we have identified them only by first name in the letters published here.

Vivien R says:

Hi Dr. Wallace,

How are you? It's coming up anniversary since my eye surgery with you. I cannot express the feeling of liberation and excitement I have with my new vision. Early this year I went on several snow boarding trips. The fact that I didn't worry about prescription goggles or having lenses knocked out greatly enhanced my experience in the snow.

During my camping trip this summer ( Dessert Hot Springs) I could see the beautiful colors of sunrise and wild birds in the mountains without going through the hassle of lenses and solutions.

Two friends of mine are very impressed with the results I have. Naturally I will refer them to you as I know they'll be in good hands and care. One is planning on having Lasik in the New Year. Meanwhile, a co-worker of mine has scheduled the procedure with you on 23rd this month. I believe in personal touch and am proud to be a living example of your excellent work.

I'm interested to see your new office. Please stay in touch.

Vivien R.

Doctor Wallace says:

Vivien has very dry and sensitive eyes, that would get red, sore and tired after several hours of contact lens wear. She was never able to go an entire day without removing her contacts.

We tested Vivien's tear production capability at the initial visit, and determined that she had more than adequate tear-making capability. I therefore felt very good about supporting her interest in LASIK.

She has done quite well since her care, which was rendered in November '01. She has not complained of any noticeable dryness (and we have asked!). We did encourage her to use frequent moisture drops in the early period after her surgery, as we do for all our patients.
