The LA Sight StaffWe're a small, personable office, compared to some other laser centers. Our staff, and the roles they fill, are described below.

|
Norma is one of our senior patient care coordinators. She is an ophthalmic technician with over 18 years of experience, who can help with special testing we perform as a part of our vision correction evaluations and/or general patient care. She counsels patients who desire to schedule surgery, and assists with peri-operative care on treatment days. She is a part of our response team that promptly follows up when we receive inquiries online. She also manages our insurance billing and patient accounts division. Norma has vast experience in general ophthalmology and laser vision care, having had LASIK herself about 10 years ago. She has been with LA Sight for over 8 years. A Latina native of California, she of course speaks fluent Spanish. |

Lucy is our principal reception concierge and patient coordinator. She answers phones, schedules appointments, coordinates reception desk functions, and helps with peri-operative patient care on days we do LASIK. She has over 6 years of experience in a medical office environment. When you call to schedule appointments, you will most likely be greeted by her cheerful voice and demeanor. She is reasonably fluent in Armenian as well as English. |

Karen is both a surgery counselor and a surgical LASIK technician on treatment days. Karen attended Western Michigan University and holds a degree in communications. She has enjoyed a succession of interesting career opportunities from modeling to TV show production management before discovering that her heart was in medicine. She now has almost 10 years of experience in ophthalmology and laser vision care. She is a part of our response team that promptly follows up when we receive inquiries online. You will meet her as a part of your consultation, along with Dr. Wallace. Karen is the one to talk to if you have questions about vision correction, and when you're ready to schedule any care; or if you would like to make any changes in dates of scheduled treatment. |

"T." is an ophthalmic technician and certified laser technician. He assists in performing many of the tests we do as a part of our comprehensive consultations. He is knowledgeable about each step in our consultation process, and will happily explain the significance of every diagnostic test we perform. He is also our laser technician on treatment days. This means he is principally responsible for calibrating, adjusting, and keeping our laser running smoothly. T. has over 7 years of experience in eye care and laser vision correction. |

Dr. Tabanfar is our staff optometrist. She received her Bachelors in Biology from UCLA and her Doctorate in Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry. Her specialty interest is in evaluation and care of vision-correcting surgery including LASIK and lens implants, among other options. She has worked in one of the largest laser centers in the western US, and now appreciates the (distinct!) advantages of a smaller, boutique setting. She is well-versed in managing all aspects of primary eye care, fitting of even challenging contact lens cases, and management of certain eye diseases including glaucoma. Her years of experience within the specialty of vision correction make her uniquely capable of in assessing surgical candidacy issues, and in blending various non-surgical treatment options where appropriate. She is fluent in Farsi and, of course, English. |

And, last (but hopefully not least), is Dr. David Wallace . He is the spiritual leader, medical director and surgeon for LA Sight. He also fills in as chief IT geek, webhead, and other assorted roles as necessary. You can review his complete biographic sketch on our Meet Dr. Wallace page. He is reasonably fluent in Spanish, speaks some German, and a little Japanese. | |
