I have been under Dr. Wallace’s vision care since 1999. I am a demanding patient and do not want to wear glasses or contact lenses even though I have had almost every vision problem a person could possibly have including myopia, presbyopia, astigmatism, and cataract.

Dr. Wallace has performed 4 surgeries on my eyes including LASIK, enhancement, and cataract removal. Dr. Wallace is one of the most competent, sophisticated, and gifted ophthalmologists in the medical profession. He has the medical knowledge, skill, and ethical standard to achieve the highest quality of vision correction for every patient.

Dr. Wallace’s dedication to my satisfaction is beyond description. Before any surgery, Dr. Wallace would conduct countless examinations and experiments to make sure that the measurement is precise and accurate to suit my personal need. Dr. Wallace is warm, kind, generous, and thoughtful to make sure that I am perfectly happy with the result and make any adjustment if necessary. I am deeply moved by his effort and persistency to strive for excellence.

Dr. Kim is very attentive, articulate, and patient to answer all of my questions. She provides the outstanding pre-operation and post-operation care. The medical team is friendly, comforting, reassuring, and supportive. There is no doubt that Dr. Wallace has an elite group of staff for vision care.

Dr. Wallace has made the miracle come true: I can see distance, work on computers, and read small print without glasses and contact lenses!

All I can say is, "wow". Here is Hedy, sounding more like a publicist than what she really is, an extremely competent litigator. I almost think I've entered the "Twilight Zone" reading her comments above. They are most gracious and we are very appreciative.

There are two things of which I am reminded, when reading her letter. The first is that for many people, the process of achieving optimal vision can involve more than one step. There is a general widely-held public misconception that one laser treatment will always achieve perfect results and last a lifetime. But our eyes can change slowly over a span of years, and other issues (like cataract formation) can interfere with retaining optimal vision some years after laser treatment. We prefer to take the long view, and help all people under our care with appropriate options at every point in the process. Unlike other 'one-trick pony' practices that may "specilize in LASIK only" we offer a full range of options including laser correction, lens-based surgery (cataract care, lens implants, phakic lenses or ICLs), etc. So if your eyes change or evolve after one type of treatment, we can advise and provide appropriate subsequent care when warranted. Someone once said, "Life is a journey, and sometimes vision correction is a process requiring several steps." We try to be helpful all along the way.

The other thought that strikes me as I read Hedy's letter is that we get to be the messengers of such good news for a great many people we serve. Being 'inside the biz' as we are, we sometimes take for granted what we do; and it's nice to be reminded how profound the impact is for the people we treat.
