Doctor Wallace says:
Andrew had his LASIK in October, ’02. We did perform enhancement for the left eye in January ’03.
Before the enhancement, Andrew was able to obtain 20/20 vision with the left eye, but he experienced some shadowing, blur and eye strain. The refraction was very minimal, measuring 0.00 -0.75 x 150, but was able to clear up his vision (and the shadow, etc.) completely. Following enhancement, he is totally happy and has no glare, blur, shadowing, or night vision difficulty.
Often, in my experience, even tiny amounts of optical error contribute to subjective symptoms including glare, blur, ghosting, and/or a sense of imbalance between the eyes. Some surgeons are unwilling to treat such small amounts of residual refractive error. In my practice, if I feel it will be of benefit to my patients, I have no problem offering such enhancement care.
