Doctor Wallace says:
We’re all still somewhat blown away by Ben’s crystal-clear vision. Starting with as strong a prescription as he had, this is certainly the exception rather than the rule. “20/10” is better vision than some eagles have!
Personnel on active duty in the US armed forces should not seek vision correction through LASIK, as this procedure is not (yet, at least) approved and endorsed by the various service branches. The Navy and Army do allow service personnel to have PRK and retain active duty status (once their vision has stabilized and the eyes have healed). As a recruiter, nearing the end of his tour of duty, both Ben and his commanding officer agreed that it would be all right for him to have this care.
