LASIK BETTER THAN EYEGLASSES
Doctor Wallace says:
Jonathan was referred to me by his optometrist. Both of us felt that he would do very well with LASIK. He had his care in August ’01, and did note some mild dryness after surgery. With a combination of moisture drops and collagen plugs placed in the tear drainage ducts, he has remained very comfortable since.
Compared to his vision (in glasses) before surgery, he notes a huge improvement in both visual comfort and in peripheral vision. This is very typical of clients that start out with high nearsighted prescriptions. Though eyeglasses do allow sharp focus for the very nearsighted, they do shrink the size of images that are perceived, and they distort one’s awareness of peripheral vision.
LASIK fixes these problems better than eyeglasses because the correction is placed on the eye as opposed to in front of the eye.
