20/15 NOW, SNOWBOARDING IN CANADA
I had been considering LASIK surgery for about four years prior to having the surgery performed in January ’04. I did my research and visited a number of surgeons in that time. I finally chose Dr. Wallace for several reasons:
- His staff is top-notch, in terms professionalism and genuine empathy. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in the office for my initial consultation.
- Dr. Wallace’s demeanor and qualifications. He was available, honest, and forthright about the procedure and expectations. He also went to UCSD, so he earned points there (fellow alumni). It was apparent that he truly enjoys his work, and strives to achieve perfection.
- The cost of the surgery was quite reasonable when compared to the average market rates. It was obvious from my “shopping” that I was going to receive care that was way above the norm, and this made it even easier to sign the check.
- The website (LA-Sight.com) rules. I can’t say enough good things about my experience.
I had worn glasses and contacts for 14 years, and the contacts were starting to give me problems on a regular basis. I’m a very active person, and LASIK technology had evolved to the point where I was comfortable with having the surgery performed on my eyes. It was a matter of finding the proper physician. Dr. Wallace was the man for the job.
I’m seeing 20/15 now, with no “halos” or night-vision problems. I had the surgery on a Thursday and was driving at night on Sunday. I was back in the gym on Monday, and went snowboarding in Whistler, Canada a few weeks later. I have had no detrimental effects from the surgery.
A huge thank you to Dr. Wallace, Walt, Jesse, Norma, and Ruth. All of you helped to make a dream come true for me, and I’ll always be thankful to you for that.
Doctor Wallace says:
It is clear from Joe’s letter that he appreciates our “team” approach, and recognizes the contribution made by everyone on my staff, not just me. I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Thank you for such kind words, Joe.
