I have worn contacts since I was a teenager, and I was getting tired of the hassles and the problems. My eyes seemed to be red or mildly irritated much of the time. I work as a cocktail waitress, and the cigarette smoke where I work always made things worse. Wearing glasses was out of the question for me, because they are more in the way both at work and at home. Basically, I always felt less than 100% because of mild eye irritation, dryness, redness, or whatever. Then a good friend of mine who is an optometrist told me about LASIK, and recommended Dr. Wallace. I had heard about the laser eye surgery before but didn’t really know who to go to. I learned a lot from Dr. Wallace, and decided to have my LASIK several months ago. My surgery went very smoothly; I experienced no pain, not even mild discomfort, and it took just a few minutes. Almost immediately, my vision was clear, and I knew things would go well. The next day I was seeing beautifully: 20/20 in both eyes according to Dr. Wallace. I can’t believe how clearly I can see now! It’s such a pleasure to not have to deal with contacts anymore!. I can get up in the morning, put on my makeup, go rollerblading with my 7-year-old son, and work a long, late night without any discomfort, redness, tearing, or whatever. My vision has stayed crystal clear since the surgery. I am very grateful to Dr. Wallace for having done such a good job, and would recommend LASIK to anyone without hesitation.
Doctor Wallace says:
Kathryn came to me very strongly motivated to have LASIK. She was having significant irritation with contact lens wear, made worse by her work environment. She also is an active, athletic individual who enjoys outdoor activities and wanted freedom from the relative aggravation of contact lenses. We discussed her particular needs and desires, and decided to achieve full distance correction in both eyes. Having moderate myopia of –4.25 sph in both eyes made her an excellent LASIK candidate.
