ASTIGMATISM SINCE 5th GRADE, NOW 20/15

ASTIGMATISM SINCE 5th GRADE, NOW 20/15

Dr. Wallace, I do not believe the right words have been created to express how grateful I am to you for giving me new vision. You are SIMPLY AMAZING. And to Dr. Kim, Ruth, Walter, Jesse and Norma….YOU ARE ALL PHENOMENAL!

—————

I cannot tell you how pleased I am with my NEW eyes. I began wearing glasses in the 5th grade. Back then I didn’t realize why I was getting headaches and couldn’t seem to read the blackboard in class. When I got my first pair of glasses was when I realized there were lines on the chalkboard! I don’t even think blackboards have lines anymore.

Anyway, I had worn glasses ever since. As a Dance Major in college, I had to get contact lenses which, due to my astigmatism, cost me well over $300 a pair. This was way too much money to pay if lost or damaged. So I went back to forth between glasses and contacts.

I’ve wanted to get Lasik for years. The final straw was when my contact lens started constantly shifting and “swimming” in my eyes. I couldn’t see anything without sticking my finger in eye to adjust them. Not good, I know. Needless to say, this was a dangerous feat in the middle of driving! Thus began my search for information about the Lasik procedure. I knew literally dozens of people who had it done, and I search every site on the web I could pull up. I was referred to Dr. Wallace by a co-worker. When I went to the LA Sight website, I was amazed how detailed the information about the types of surgeries, functions of the eyes and tips where posted there. After careful thought, I knew that I wanted Dr. Wallace to do my procedure.

I got my surgery on April 8, 2004. My vision before the surgery was 20/400 in both eyes with PLENTY of astigmatism. Before, I needed my glasses to FIND my glasses in the morning. The morning after surgery, I believe I was 20/25 in the left and 20/30 in the right (Correct me if I am wrong Dr. Wallace). My eye sight was good, but we both felt it could be better. Before the surgery I was informed by Dr. Wallace that they may not be able to get all of the astigmatism the first time, and an enhancement may be needed later. Three months later Dr. W and I agreed that enhancement would do me well. GENIUS!! Now I am 20/15 in both eyes!! Wooooo Whooo!! I am ECSTATIC! I could not ask for better eyesight.

This is undoubtedly the best thing I have ever done for myself. If you have questioned whether or not to do the procedure, question no more! Dr. Wallace and the TEAM at LA Sight are the perfect choice. Never have I felt so comfortable and cared for by any group of people.

Thanks for everything!!! I owe my new eyes to you!

————— and then, we received this note just recently, in December ’08:

Writing to give my 5 year update! I can’t believe the time has moved so quickly. WOW And even more amazing…I don’t remember ever wearing glasses! Sometimes when I see myself in pictures, I don’t recognize myself. I just want to thank the staff at LA Sight and Dr. Wallace for the gift of sight. I am still seeing 20/15 and have never been happier! Still telling everyone I know about it and hoping that one day EVERYONE will take that leap of faith and get it done too. Thanks again! Tara L.

Doctor Wallace says:
What more can I add? Caring for (and helping achieve great results for) people like Tara make it fun to come to work each day.
