In case you were curious as to what my thoughts were about my experience:
The experience with the surgery was too quick to really go into detail, I can tell you all of the pre-op was a wonderful experience. They answered all of my questions let me bring some lunch, helped with financing, and really made it a home for me the brief while I was there.
The surgery itself was great because the doctor explained to me each part that was going on and gave me extra numbing drops for my eyes, and made special efforts to help me feel calm, because I was nervous. Boy did those work — I did not feel a thing! You know that whole four minutes your in the chair lol.
I do not have any references on Dr. H. (another LASIK surgeon), but as for Dr. M. (a third well-known LASIK surgeon), they were not as responsive to my questions as Dr. Wallace was. Dr. Wallace thoroughly went through each of my concerns, giving candid and direct answers. Dr. M. waited until the week I was ready for the surgery to respond back, and instead of answering my individual emails he send a packet, of all of the famous people has done, and frankly I didn’t care. Dr.wallace was more concerned about me as future patient, then trying to impress me with who he has operated on.
Dr. Wallace’s site, lasight.wpengine.com was also very helpful in my decision making, you got to read about the staff, different types of operations and answered my what ifs, it was so very organized and really just from his sight I knew he was the one. Then meeting him and his staff, within one hour I canceled all of my other consultations and signed up right then and there.
Yes I would recommend Dr. Wallace and oh boy he could tell you how much research I did before going in.
I think in choosing a doctor, you have to go with being able to trust your surgeon, your eyes are in their hands and within an hour of meeting Dr.wallace and his staff I was completely ready to trust him with my eyes.
Oh and I have better vision now than someone who has been able to see their whole life, most have 20/20 and I am lucky to have 20/15!
Oh and yes they were very comprehensive with the examinations, everything was thorough and they really were able to get exacts in what needed to be corrected, that definitely made me more confident that they knew what they were doing. Follow ups are great as well — I feel like I have known them forever.
I know I sound like an add campaign for them but this is truly how excited I am from the surgery (:->). It was fantastic experience:))
I hope this helps
