Restoring Reading Vision explains options for recovering reading ability lost as we "mature" beyond about age 45, which in the past meant needing either reading glasses or bifocals.  Lens-based options now include the CrystaLens HD-500, and multifocal IOLs including ReStor. This section also discusses ICLs and Phakic Lenses, an exciting option for those with very strong nearsightedness and/or thin corneas, who would not be candidates for LASIK.
